With one week to go, all the projects put on hold have had to get taken care of. I’ve spent most of my weekend working on the things I wish I had done earlier. Luckily, this will all pay off soon enough. Nolan flies home Wednesday night and I drive down from Chico on Friday morning. We’ve got Friday with just the girls, Saturday rehearsal, and then finally the wedding on Sunday. Nolan and I are both looking forward to a nice vacation and getting a chance to be in the same place at the same time for a while. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

One Month To Go!

So we have one month left until the day of. Things are starting to come down to the wire and there’s still a lot left to do. This weekend we are figuring out all rehearsal details, makeup, schedule everything for the day of, and the dreadful table seating.

Nolan is off in DC right now for his company, so we are trying to get things done on both coasts. He will be back in California, but only in S.F. for a week, so I’m going down the last day he’s there before heading back to DC to get our marriage license (since we forgot to get it before he left) and have a nice dinner to celebrate his birthday.

RSVPs are done, my dress is now at the cleaners, and I can’t seem to get thank you cards done fast enough - but I swear they’re coming out.

I can’t wait to see everyone there!

We are so excited about our honeymoon. We’re spending 3 days in Dublin, 3 days in Paris, and 4 days in London. Some of the attractions are the Louvre, Eiffle Tour (of course), London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Dublin Castle, and The Chocolate Warehouse. It’s going to be an amazing trip.

As things start getting closer, we have a lot of the little things left to do. As far as favors, we originally wanted to do customized Jones Sodas, but soon realized it was going to cost more than our budget offered. So instead, we are having a candy buffet! While it might not be as original as the sodas, who can resist a table full of candy.

We’re getting our invitations this weekend and we just received our first wedding gift. Still plenty left to do though.

Guest Book?

We’re trying to figure out if we should do a guest book or not. We just haven’t seen anything out there that fits our personalities and wouldn’t be just the traditional book that would be stuck in a shelf for the rest of our lives. A few ideas have been:

Singing a bottle of wine / champagne
The matting to a picture
Signing our website guestbook

Any thoughts?

Things are really starting to move along this month. With multiple appointments this month, it seems like we should have gotten some of this done earlier. Figures that when you have so much time to plan something everything creeps up on you faster. So, for this month we have the following:

Finalizing bridesmaid dresses

I just ordered the necklaces for the girls (as pictured)

Cake tasting

Food tasting

Booking honeymoon reservations

Finding a florist

Finding a photographer

I’m sure that the list could go on and on.

Dealing with some drama with our original venue for the wedding, we have now started the process of finding a new place. We’re seeing it as a blessing in disguise. Once we do find our new location we’ll be adding another update. So far we have some good prospects.

Date Set!: After having to change our wedding date multiple times, we hope that now it is final. There are a few things that helped decide the date: 1) Making sure that all the Brown boys were out of the military; 2) Nolan and Chris (older brother) have to go to the Apple Developer Conference in June; and 3) That was the best date available for the location we wanted. So, our date is set for June 28, 2009.
